Uke Night: 9pm THE UKULADIES / Jam session begins at 7pm.

Thu 23 Feb 2012 - 7: pm

Brooklyn, NY

7pm Uke Night: An opportunity for ukulele players to join an informal, fun jam session (open to the public for total ukulele enjoyment) followed by a performance of a featured uke group.  Jam session begins at 7pm. Featured uke performance begins at 9:00.

9pm THE UKULADIES: The Ukuladies are a twin-sister, aunt, and one tap-dancing-cousin act from Regina, Canada with a lust for life and its idle curiosities. Come and join the “ladies” as they share cowboy love songs, songs in the style of 30′s and 40 numbers, and plenty more, all original. http://www.theukuladies.com

“the Ukuladies are not simply a musical act – they’re a full-scale entertainment featuring singing, dancing, acting, comedy and equine fire-breathing. And their arsenal of props also include a frying pan, a ghost horse with devil horns, fake beards and mustaches, aprons, a log, soda cans, funny money, a toy six-shooter, globes on strings, random signage, a cardboard jukebox and many other assorted items too humorous to mention….There was so much going on onstage both musically and visually at all times, that you’d have to see the show at least twice just to catch half the action. The performance was zany, smart, musically spot-on and action-packed – full of sass and spunk” – THE TIMES UNION
